About the Volunteers

In 2005, The Roots and Shoots volunteer parent group of Concordia International School (now renamed the Mercy Fund) joined in helping out the leukemia kids and their families, bringing hope to those in desperate need.

The Mercy Fund's volunteer outreach support group (mostly expatriates) has grown to include parents at Shanghai American School, Shanghai International Singapore School, friends with Hands on Shanghai , as well as a few local Chinese volunteer supporters.

The volunteer parents and their friends visit the leukemia children and parents at Xin Hua Hospital on a weekly basis bringing gifts of cheer in many ways including financial assistance.

We are determined to make a difference with our smiles, field trips around Shanghai , gifts of toys and books, education on this disease, and other daily necessities on hygiene needed.
